Job Description
The CGS Regional Commercial Director is responsible for leading Coface’s global sales strategy, driving top-line growth, and managing strategic relationships with key multinational clients and intermediaries. This role oversees the (CGS) Coface Global Solutions and ensures the successful execution of commercial initiatives across all regions, with a strong focus on client retention, portfolio expansion, and cross -border collaboration.
This role plays a critical role in driving commercial success across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. This leader spearheads CGS teams in delivering tailored risk management solutions to multinational clients, forging high-impact deals with C-level executives, and nurturing enduring relationships to sustain double-digit annual growth.
Operating at the heart of Coface’s regional commercial ecosystem, this role reports solid-line to the Chief Commercial Officer, North America, and dotted-line to the Group Director CGS, ensuring seamless global coordination and integration. Success in this role hinges on leveraging a robust network of companies, brokers, and partners to transform connections into strategic assets that reinforce Coface’s leadership in multinational trade.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sales Leadership
- Define and execute the global sales strategy aligned with Coface’s business objectives.
- Drive revenue growth through acquisition, retention, and expansion of global client portfolios.
- Lead the CGS Marketing Action Plan and ensure saturation of high-potential targets.
- Build and maintain market intelligence to support data-driven sales decisions.
Client Relationship Management
- Personally manage relationships with top-tier CGS clients and their intermediaries.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through proactive engagement and tailored solutions.
- Lead renewal negotiations, upselling, and cross-selling initiatives.
- Represent Coface at key external events and industry forums to strengthen brand visibility and build pipeline.
External Network Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships and close collaboration with brokers, particularly Tier 1 brokers, and other key intermediaries.
- Develop a well-established and actively managed external network to drive market access,
- support strategic growth and ensure effective distribution and positioning.
- Leverage partnerships to enhance Coface’s competitive edge and global reach.
Portfolio & Commercial Management
- Oversee pricing strategies and renewal offers in collaboration with underwriting and commercial teams.
- Monitor portfolio performance, loss ratios, and profitability metrics.
- Expand CGS programs across non-insured entities and support regional saturation efforts.
- Ensure alignment with Coface’s commercial underwriting standards and delegation levels.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and inspire a global sales team, setting clear goals and driving accountability.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and promote continuous development.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and commercial excellence.
- Ensure operational continuity and efficiency across regions.
Communication & Coordination
- Provide senior management with insights on client needs, market trends, and competitive activity.
- Steer internal stakeholders (sales, account management, underwriting, operations) to deliver
- seamless service.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration to enhance client experience and retention.
Risk & Compliance Oversight
- Partner with the Risk department to manage loss ratios and ensure sustainable growth.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
Profile Needed
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree educated in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Banking, or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of senior sales leadership experience, ideally within credit insurance, banking, claims, or factoring.
- Proven success in managing global client portfolios and leading international teams.
- Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, and commercial acumen.
- Experience in multicultural and international environments.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and data analytics.
- Multilingual capabilities are a plus.
