Job Description

Context :

Reporting to the Head of Data Governance, the Data Champions Coordinator orchestrates the global network of Data Governance Champions, ensuring consistent application of data governance principles across all business units and regions while facilitating knowledge sharing and local implementation of data governance initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement an effective onboarding program for new Data Governance Champions to ensure they understand their role, responsibilities, and the organization's data governance framework.
  • Facilitate regular communication and collaboration among Data Governance Champions through meetings, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Provide guidance and support to Champions on implementing data governance principles within their local business units and regions.
  • Act as the central point of contact between local Champions and the central Data Governance team, ensuring alignment of initiatives and consistent application of standards.
  • Identify and address specific needs and challenges faced by Champions in different regions and business units.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and resources to support Champions in their role.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the Champions network and implement improvements to enhance its impact.
  • Collaborate with other data governance functions (Data Quality, Data Catalog, etc.) to ensure Champions have access to necessary tools and information.
  • Report on the progress and impact of the Champions network to senior leadership.
  • Identify and share best practices across regions and business units to drive continuous improvement in data governance implementation.

Profile Needed

Your profile :

  • You have a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • You have at least 10 years of experience in change management, data governance, data management, or related fields, with demonstrated expertise in building and managing communities of practice.
  • You have excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • You speak French and English fluently.
  • You have a solid understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
  • You are recognized for your interpersonal skills and your ability to build relationships in a matrix and multicultural environment.
  • You demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities across different regions and business units.
  • You are an open-minded and empathetic team player, with the ability to understand diverse perspectives and adapt your approach accordingly.
  • You have experience in change management and driving adoption of new practices across an organization.
  • You excel at simplifying complex concepts, explaining technical data governance principles in accessible language, and making complicated information intelligible to diverse audiences.
  • You have good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 tools (Excel and Powerpoint) and collaboration platforms.
