Job Description

SOCOTEC is seeking a mid-career professional to lead our US Nuclear Services Group, consisting of approximately 10 engineers, material scientists, and Quality Assurance personnel. This individual will be client-facing, client-focused, and experienced in business development and growth initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding our footprint in the nuclear industry and building upon our long-standing service history.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the US Nuclear Services Group, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight for engineers, material scientists, and QA staff.
  • Serve as the primary client interface, ensuring exceptional service delivery and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Drive business development and growth within the nuclear sector, identifying opportunities and expanding SOCOTEC’s market presence.
  • Support clients with design and plant operability challenges, including failure and root cause assessments.
  • Oversee project execution, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, technical specifications, and quality expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the organization.

Profile Needed

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in civil, structural, mechanical, nuclear, or electrical engineering.
  • Proven experience in client-facing roles within the nuclear industry.
  • Demonstrated track record of business development and organizational growth.
  • Strong technical knowledge in solving client design and plant operability issues.
  • Experience in failure analysis, root cause assessment, or similar investigative work.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing a small team of engineers, scientists, and QA personnel.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety standards in the nuclear industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
